Updates

The Monte Rosa Hut is open

Recommended access via the Panoramaweg (upper route); the path is well marked, and there are only a few small crevasses to cross. Conditions on the access are excellent.

Recommended descent via the old route (lower route); the path is well marked. The new route is technically easier, with no ladders or climbing sections, but there is still the glacier to crossing. Conditions on this route are also excellent.

Conditions on the Dufourspitze / Nordend are good. Particular caution is advised when descending from the Dufourspitze towards the Silbersattel. In this area, there is an increased risk of rockfall due to loose rock and the nature of the terrain. The glacier remains easy to traverse.

Conditions on the Grenz Glacier towards the Zumsteinspitze, Signalkuppe, Parrotspitze etc. are good, provided the night is cold enough.
