The Monte Rosa Hut is closed.
The official approach route to the hut is also closed for the season.
The upper approach via the Panoramaweg is no longer accessible. The markings have been removed and the steps installed there have been taken down.
The lower approach via the Alter Weg remains marked and accessible.
If you have booked a place in the Emergency Room, please use only the lower route via the ‘Alter Weg’.
Please note that the access route is no longer regularly checked outside the official season and that conditions on the terrain can change at any time.

Emergency Room is open
During the unattended period, only one Emergency Room with 12 sleeping places are open. Overnight stays in this room require you to bring the usual bivouac equipment (gas, cooker, cooking utensils and sleeping bag). Mattresses, blankets and Tableware are available.
Reservations must be made online. The overnight stay costs CHF38.-
